1. OUR APPROACH TO TRANSPARENCY
Place Replace (a proprietary company) (“Place Replace”, “we”, “us”, “our”) values openness. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar tracking technologies are, why we use them on the Place Replace website, mobile site and mobile application (together, the “Platform”), and the choices you have. It applies to all Place Replace services that link to this policy.
2. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your browser or device when you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to the site owners. Cookies can be:
- Session cookies – temporary cookies that are deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies – cookies that remain on your device for a set period or until you manually delete them.
In addition to cookies, we may use web beacons (also called pixels or clear GIFs), tags, and scripts. These are tiny graphics or code snippets that help us understand how you interact with our Platform and emails — for example, whether an email was opened or a page was visited.
3. TYPES OF COOKIES WE USE
We group cookies into four categories. The table below explains what each category does.
| Category | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Strictly Necessary Cookies | These are essential for the Platform to function. They enable core features like secure login, page navigation, and access to protected areas. Without them, certain services you request cannot be provided. |
| Performance & Analytics Cookies | These collect anonymous, aggregated information about how visitors use the Platform — which pages are visited most often, how users move around, and if any error messages appear. We use this data to improve performance and your overall experience. |
| Functional Cookies | These allow the Platform to remember choices you make — such as your language, region, or job search preferences — so we can tailor your experience. They may also be used to provide services you have requested, like watching a video. |
| Advertising & Targeting Cookies | These are usually placed by our advertising partners with our permission. They track your browsing habits across sites and build a profile of your interests, so that the ads you see on our Platform and elsewhere on the internet are more relevant to you. They also limit how often you see an ad and help measure campaign effectiveness. |
4. WHY WE USE COOKIES
- To secure your account and prevent fraud – essential cookies help us authenticate users and protect both your data and our systems.
- To remember your settings – functional cookies let us store your preferences so you don’t have to keep re entering them.
- To improve our Platform – analytics cookies tell us which features are popular and where we can make things better.
- To serve relevant ads – advertising cookies enable us and our partners to show you job related advertisements that are more likely to match your interests.
We operate on a strict opt-in model. Non-essential tracking technologies will only be deployed upon your clear, affirmative action. Your access to the core functionalities of the Platform is unconditional and will not be restricted if you reject non- essential cookies. You can change your preferences at any time (see Section 7).
5. THIRD PARTY COOKIES
Some cookies on the Platform are set by trusted third party services that we use for analytics, advertising, and social media integration. We do not control these cookies; each third party has its own privacy and cookie policy.
Our current partners include:
- Google Analytics & Google Ads – helps us understand user behaviour, measure ad performance, and deliver interest based ads through the Google Display Network. Google’s privacy policy is at https://policies.google.com/privacy.
- Facebook (Meta Pixel) – enables us to show targeted job advertisements to Facebook and Instagram users, and measure how those users interact with our Platform. Facebook’s data policy is at https://www.facebook.com/policy.php.
- Other social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter) – when we embed feeds or share buttons, these networks may set their own cookies. Please review their respective privacy pages for details.
We may also work with additional advertising networks in the future. An up to date list of our main partners will be made available in our cookie consent tool.
6. WEB BEACONS AND PIXELS
We occasionally run advertising campaigns on external websites. To measure how effective those campaigns are, we may use web beacons (action tags) that tell us whether a user who saw one of our ads subsequently visited the Platform. These beacons do not access your personal information; they only compile aggregate statistics about campaign performance. We will only deploy web beacons and action tags with your explicit, prior consent, which must be affirmatively provided via our cookie consent management tool through your browser or opt out settings.
7. YOUR CHOICES: MANAGING COOKIES
You have the right to decide which non essential cookies are set. Here’s how:
- Cookie consent banner – when you first visit the Platform, a banner will allow you to accept or reject specific cookie categories. You can revisit your choices through the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of our website.
- Browser settings – most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Check your browser’s “Help” menu or visit one of these guides:
- Chrome: Google Support
- Firefox: Mozilla Support
- Safari: Apple Support
- Edge: Microsoft Support
- Opt out tools – many advertising networks offer ways to opt out of interest based advertising:
- Network Advertising Initiative: NAI Choices
- Digital Advertising Alliance: DAA Choices
- Google Ads Settings: Google Ads Settings
- Facebook Ad Preferences: Facebook Ad Preferences
Please note: if you disable certain cookies, parts of the Platform may not function properly. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be turned off as they are essential for the Platform to work.
8. CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, law, or our services. When we do, we will post the revised version on the Platform and update the “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
