This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard your data when you visit our website https://placereplace.in, use our mobile application, or access any of our online services (collectively, the “Platform”). It also describes your choices regarding your information.
This policy applies to all users of the Platform, including job seekers, recruiters and other visitors (collectively, “you”, “your”). By using the Platform, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Platform.
2. WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information that you provide directly, information automatically collected through your use of the Platform, and information from third-party sources as described below. “Personal Information” means any data that can identify you, such as your name, contact details, online identifiers, or any other information classified as personal data under applicable law.
Information you give us:
- When you create an account, upload a resume, set up job alerts, or apply to a job, you may provide: name, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, location, nationality, work experience, educational qualifications, skills, salary details, photograph, visa/work status, and other career-related information.
- When you participate in surveys, contests, or feedback forms, we collect the responses you submit.
- If you communicate with us (by email, chat, or phone), we may keep a record of that correspondence.
- If you opt to share caste or other affirmative-action eligibility data, we will collect that only with your explicit consent.

- To provide our services: Creating and managing your account, matching your profile with relevant job openings, sending job alerts and recommended vacancies (for job seekers), and enabling recruiters to search for and contact candidates.

- To improve the Platform: Analysing usage trends and preferences to enhance our features, content, and user experience.
- For marketing and promotions: Sending you information about our products, services, special offers, and career related news if you have subscribed. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by adjusting your account settings.
- To protect our users and Platform: Detecting, preventing and addressing fraud, misuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Use.
- To comply with legal obligations: Cooperating with law enforcement, regulatory authorities, or court orders, and meeting other compliance requirements.

6. HOW WE SHARE AND DISCLOSE INFORMATION

- With other Users (Recruiters / Job Seekers): If you are a job seeker and your profile matches a job posting, we may share your resume and contact details with that recruiter. If you are a recruiter, your job listing and company profile will be visible to job seekers.
- With our service providers: We engage trusted third-party vendors for hosting, data analytics, email delivery, customer support, payment processing, and marketing. These providers are bound by contract to use your data only on our behalf and under strict confidentiality.
- With group companies and affiliates: For internal business operations, consistent service delivery, and cross-platform career services.
- For legal and security reasons: When we believe disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation, enforce our terms, protect our rights or the safety of others, or investigate fraud.
- In connection with business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be disclosed to the involved parties, subject to the same privacy protections.
We do not transfer personal information outside India unless adequate safeguards are in place as required by law.

In accordance with Section 14 of the DPDPA, you have the right to nominate another individual who shall in the event of your death or physical/ mental incapacity, exercise your data privacy rights under this policy. You can manage your digital nominee via your account settings.
9. DATA RETENTION
We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by legal, regulatory, or contractual obligations. When your data is no longer needed, we will securely delete or anonymize it. If you close your account, we will delete or de identify your data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
10. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Under Indian law, a child is an individual under 18. If you are under 18, we mandate verifiable consent from your parent or legal guardian prior to any data collection, utilizing government ID or authorized virtual tokens. We absolutely prohibit behavioral monitoring, tracking, or targeted advertising directed at any user under 18. If you believe a minor has shared information with us, please contact us immediately.
11. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
Our Platform may contain links to external websites, job boards, or social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of every website you visit. This policy applies solely to information collected by Place Replace.
12. SECURITY
We maintain appropriate technical, administrative and physical safeguards to protect your personal information against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. These measures include encryption, firewalls, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. SOCIAL MEDIA
Place Replace maintains profiles on social media platforms to inform and engage with users. Information you share publicly on those platforms is not governed by this policy. We do not collect sensitive personal data or confidential information through social media channels. Please avoid posting such data in comments or direct messages.
14. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on the Platform with a new “Last updated” date. If the changes are material, we will notify you through the Platform or by email. Your continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. The Grievance Officer will respond to data privacy complaints within 30 days. If your grievance is not resolved to your satisfaction within this period, you possess the statutory right to escalate the matter by filing a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India (DPBI).
